Santa in Finland - two-day trip - December 4 & 5

Upon arrival at Kajaani Airport, you will be met by the guides in traditional costume and taken to a specially reserved area to be given thermal outfits which comprise an overall with hood, balaclava, winter boots, woollen socks, woolly hat and mittens. At the end of your visit, you will transfer back to Kajaani Airport, return the thermal suits and board the aircraft for your return flight home to Gatwick.

Itinerary

• Day One - leave the local area and transfer to Gatwick for the morning flight to Kajaani. On arrival you will be met by Finnish guides and taken to the changing area, where you will be given your winter clothing. Then split into two groups and travel either to the adventure park to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor activities or to Santa’s Village at Kuhmo. On arrival in Kuhmo, the first stop will be for lunch in a lovely hotel situated by a large frozen lake. After lunch a short journey to Santa’s Christmas Village to meet the Elves and Santa Claus! In this enchanting area, a family of working elves tell you about what they do and you can sample mother’s home made gingerbread. After your activities you will be transferred to the hotel in plenty of time to check in and enjoy dinner.
• Day Two - after breakfast there will be time at leisure in the hotel before the day’s activities begin. Then enjoy your days activities (reversed from day one), before rejoining the coach for the transfer to the airport and flight home after a fantastic excursion to see Santa in the Snow.

• Extended Snow Mobile Safari - £50 per person - a wonderful two hour excursion where you drive yourself through unspoilt hinterland of this delightful region, enjoying the freedom and tranquillity of the open spaces and the tree lined beauty of the forest glades. Prices are based on two people sharing a snow mobile and include a stop for coffee and a pastry during the trip.
• Extended Husky Rides - £50 per adult/£25 per child - on this wonderful excursion not only do you enjoy a longer ride but you also learn how to drive a team of huskies and put your learning into practice.
• Downhill Skiing - £25 per adult/£15 per child - under floodlights in the evening or during the day, enjoy a few hours of this fabulous and exhilarating sport. The price includes transfers to the slopes and ski hire. Lessons are available, prices on request and must be pre-booked.
• X - Country Skiing - £15 per person (subject to a minimum of 10 participants) - Great fun, a relaxing or strenuous sport, it’s up to you, tuition is available.
• Winter Sports Insurance - If you wish to ski, then you must ensure you have the appropriate winter sports insurance cover, either through Imaginations or another insurer. Imaginations cannot be held responsible for any costs arising as a result of optional winter sports activities. Please see booking form for details.
